Metropolitan Region of Munich

The Munich Dream

Munich isn’t known across international borders without any reason. The city as well as the region around it are known for their significant economic and cultural impact. Many international large-scale enterprises reside here to attain the skills of highly-qualified professionals across all fields.

Everything is possible in Munich.

Economic Epicenter

The region of Munich is home to about 3 Million people. The average GDP per capita was at almost EUR 87,000 in 2021 and is thereby in a leading position across Germany. Munich is the main driver for the superior economic strength and the welfare of the Free State of Bavaria.

Since decades ago, internationally successful brands from many sectors have settled down here. Especially with the car industry (BMW, Audi, …) or theIT sector (Siemens, Microsoft, …) Munich doesn’t need to hide before other metropoles. Many established companies and newstart-ups settle here. As such, Munich was known as a city for many great career possibilities up to today and will continue to do so in the future, growing further.

This is also guaranteed by the academic excellence of the colleges and universities, that reside here. Especially the top-universities LMU and TUM not only provide the necessery knowledge for a multitude of subjects but also belong to the national leaders in multiple academic fields and drive the current state of science further together with other international-oriented universities.

Regional Infrastructure

The S-Bahn, busses, subway and tram of the MVV und MVG transport a few hundred millions of people from A to B in the region of Munich. Even in the outer zones, the stations are frequented regularly and reliably, as the S-Bahn also halts at Neufahrn in a 20-minute-interval. It is easily possible to spontaneously visit Munich and return to the Boardinghouse for the whole day.

Departure times of the trains and busses can be tracked live by the MVV and MVG apps. In addition, notifications about the current traffic situation are published there regularly and calculated in the automatic travel information.

Munich is optimally connected for long-distance-travelling. The big Main Train Station of Munich is far at the top of the list of the most frequented train stations in Germany and a multitude of connections (transnational too) start and end here. The Airport of Munich is only one station away from Neufahrn and connects the megacity intercontinental. It belongs to the most important airports of Europe. Arrival and Departure over great distances is no problem here.

Leasure Time in Munich

The economy is not the only strength of the metropolis. Munich as the cultural center of Bavaria offers a multitude of possibilities to spend leasure time apart from the working world. The many classic Bavarian beer halls and inns invite to eat and drink. During summer the beer gardens tempt you to enjoy a snack with a cool beer in a relaxed atmosphere. Yet a diverse amount of international restaurants and diners have settled here in Munich. As such, there is something else for every taste and every business lunch.

The parks of the city bring some nature in the daily urban routine during a relaxed walk. For sports enthusiasts, there is a large choice of gyms, even in direct vicinity to the boardinghouse. Cultural powerhouses in the form of museums, theaters and cinemas etc. can be found all over the city.

At last, the Oktoberfest (starting every year in September) is the highlight for many tourists travelling here for it during a stay in the region of Munich.
